Meet the Midwife

Diana Janopaul, LM, CPM is a licensed midwife who lives and works in the Tallahassee area. She received her midwifery training at the Florida School for Traditional Midwifery in Gainesville with a preceptorship at The Birth Cottage in Tallahassee. She has been practicing in Tallahassee since 2005 and has attended more than 200 births. In addition to catching babies in the North Florida area, she has traveled to Colombia and the Dominican Republic to deliver babies in those countries.

She is married to Steven Dwinell and has four children. In addition to midwifery, she enjoys writing, playing piano, reading and traveling.  Diana has had several midwifery related articles published, including her birth story of her son Evan in Ina May Gaskin’s Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth and the articles Leonard’s Cord and The Call to Midwifery in Midwifery Today. She is currently working on a novel The Witch’s Get, which integrates her love of midwifery and herbal healing with her family’s Scottish roots.
